Penmanship

Eloquence

The discipline of neat and legible handwriting is an aid to spelling and instills the value of accurate, careful work – an important academic skill that carries over into every aspect of learning.

Beginning in 1st grade, students at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School learn cursive, which has been shown to to have benefits to brain development, similar to that of learning to play a musical instrument.

It is of great value in life to be able to produce quality written work in a timely manner.

Cursive is required for the majority of written work in grades 3 and up.

Unless serious attention is given to penmanship in every grade and class, illegible, careless writing plagues students and teachers throughout their school years.

Pride in Your Work

"At Holy Trinity, we emphasize good penmanship in all subjects (even mathematics) as it's important to take pride in one's work. This also assists our younger students in developing hand-eye coordination." Heather Sweet, HTCCS teacher
