Building Blocks

Holy Trinity Classical Christian School has half-day programs for 2’s, 3’s, and Pre-K students on our preschool campus, housed at the Parish Church of St. Helena in downtown Beaufort.

The preschool teachers and assistants at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School truly love what they do, as well as the children. They frequently delight in the fact that, “It’s not really a job, it’s a love for God.” The entire preschool staff looks forward to coming to campus every day, educating little ones in partnership with parents.

The preschool curriculum at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School prepares children to be successful in kindergarten. Recitations start in the 2 year-old classroom and 3 year-olds learn the proper way to stand as a group in line, etc. Each class has a schedule that is adhered to daily.

Individual needs are addressed for the preschoolers. For some children it’s academics, for others it’s social skills, and for some it’s confidence to stand in a group to say the Pledge of Allegiance.

What also sets the preschool program at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School apart, is that students have music and physical education classes weekly taught by classically trained teachers from the grammar school campus.

And perhaps even more importantly for this age group is that all of this is accomplished through FUN and an excitement for learning about Jesus Christ and the world around us through games & songs, and weekly chapel.
After all, the more fun a preschooler has, the more they will remember, and look forward to the next day of learning!

Holy Trinity Classical Christian School’s youngest students, our 2’s, develop fine motor skills through building and drawing, and strengthening one’s grasp through arts and crafts. Cognitive skills are refined through the introduction to number recognition and letters & sounds. Two’s also partake in music and physical education weekly as taught by the grammar school teachers who come to the preschool campus.

Two year-olds who attend Holy Trinity Classical Christian School begin Bible verse recitation through scripture, learn about a new Bible story each week, and recite the children’s creed:

I believe in God above.
I believe in Jesus’ love.
I believe he died for me so I can live eternally.
And I believe his spirit too comes to show me what to do.
And I believe he wants me to be as kind and loving as He.

Holy Trinity’s littlest angels delight in learning what worship is while making friends and following a healthy & happy school routine.

Pre-K students at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School transition from the rotational learning they experienced in the 2 and 3 year-old classes to that of class learning through the Memoria Press curriculum, mirroring that of the Grammar School.

    • Instructions are given to the class as a whole, and students then work individually on the assignment simultaneously.
    • Several workbooks are incorporated for pre-k students to practice proper formation of letters and numbers as part of instilling strong Penmanship early on.
    • Just like older students in the grammar school, Pre-K students retrieve and put away their books, taking out their folders daily.
