Director of Advancement

Elijah Melendez is a former lower school teacher at Holy Trinity and is excited to be returning as Director of Advancement! He brings experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising strategy, and organizational development, having guided ministries and community organizations through campaigns, grant funding, and sustainable growth efforts. Most recently, he served as Director of Operations and Development at North Charleston Dental Outreach, where he helped expand access to care for underserved families and build a sustainable fundraising program from the ground up. 

Elijah earned his BA in English, summa cum laude, from The Citadel, holds professional certifications as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP), and is currently completing his MBA at Charleston Southern University. His academic interests center on leadership, spiritual formation, and the integration of faith and work. He is married to an amazing wife, Elizabeth Anne, and father of 3 wonderful children: Judah (3), Malachi (2) and Sawyer Catherine (3 months). He currently serves as an infantryman in the SC Army National Guard, and is a confirmed Anglican.
