Fine Arts

Beauty and Education +
Truth, information, and logic, speak to our minds, but Beauty speaks to our hearts. Both change and shape us in their own ways, Truth and logic by convincing our human reason, and beauty by stirring our hearts and souls. The Arts play a significant role in a formative education, not only to provide well-roundedness, but also in the way they help us experience excellence, cultivate empathy, shape the loves and passions of our hearts, and draw us into a posture of wonder and worship.
When we can appreciate the Beauty of order, proportion, timing, shape, pattern, etc., in art, and doing so, we can learn to see these in the beauty of Math and Science. When we engage in theater, we learn to consider more deeply what it means to live in another time, place, and culture – practicing empathy – and that makes us better students of History and Literature. The Arts expand our ability to understand the world in which we live and the people we share it with.
Art and Music +
At Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, we believe in filling our students with a steady diet of the good, the true, and the beautiful, and Fine Arts embodies the beautiful portion of this feast.
By taking in great music and art, our students are nourished by sights and sounds that have the power to strengthen and cultivate their senses rather than overwhelm them. Ultimately, our hope is that, by filling our students with good things to see and to hear, they will find themselves more able to recognize beauty in the world around them and so create it for themselves.
Holy Trinity students have the opportunity to participate in a host of Art, Music, and other Arts related activities and competitions through our accrediting agency, the South Carolina Independent School Association.

Drama and Theater +
Holy Trinity students in Grammar and Upper Schools have the opportunity to participate in Drama as an afterschool activity. Generally, our Drama Department performs a play or a musical for the community twice a year – once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
The Holy Trinity Drama Department also participates in the competitions through our accreditation agency, the South Carolina Independent School Association.
