Palmetto Boys State

The American Legion’s Boys State program is a unique way for young men to learn about the American system of government and politics by participating in a mock governmental system. This year's program took place June 12-18. The local American Legion posts select young men to attend Palmetto Boys State between their Junior and Senior years of High School. The selection process is conducted through each local legion post. Holy Trinity rising senior Houston Wilson was selected this year and had the honor of attending.

Palmetto Boys State is the top program in the country thanks to the unique learning environment. In addition to participating in a mock government system, Boys Staters have the unique opportunity to explore potential career paths through our different schools including the Performing Arts School, Criminal Justice Academy, and Law School.

Houston returned home having had an awesome experience and sharing story after story with his family! Mrs. Tara Gaillard, Holy Trinity Guidance Counselor, had this to say, "I am thankful yet again for the opportunities available for our students who are ready to engage and succeed in the community, nation, and world, by the grace of God alone!"
