Classical Curriculum Philosophy

Timeless

Holy Trinity Classical Christian School offers a classical, Christian education.

The goal of a classical education is to develop the mind of the student through Latin and mathematics, and to develop wisdom and virtue through a careful reading of the classics. In all of our programs, we strive for continuity and mastery learning.

Classical education also focuses on teaching age-appropriate material through age-appropriate methods. We follow the classical trivium which emphasizes memorization of facts in the grammar school; evaluation, analysis, and integration of information in the logic stage or middle grades; and the articulate expression of ideas through the spoken and written word in the rhetoric stage of the upper school.

The education experience at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School is holistic in that it develops the mind, cultivates the soul, and nourishes the body.

Academic Rigor

Through instruction based on the Trivium, Holy Trinity Classical Christian School develops the minds of students through various academic disciplines:

  • Classical Studies/History
  • Latin
  • Geography
  • English & Literature
  • Penmanship
  • Fine Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science

The use of quality reading materials an essential part of the rigorous curriculum offered at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School. For additional lists and information, see our School Profile on under Upper School for more information.

Christ-centered

As part of our mission, Holy Trinity Classical Christian School teaches students about Jesus Christ in many ways: Christian Studies/Bible, Chapel, and Character.

Worship: Grammar and Upper School students at Holy Trinity Classical Christian School start their school day off  by attending chapel. Not only is it a time for parents and students alike to learn about His Word through Bible stories, it’s an opportunity to worship together as a community of believers through songs and question and answer periods.

Character: The goal of a classical education is to form the mind and character of the student so that he will use the power of knowledge for good ends. Student behavior, attitude, and physical disposition contributes positively to the classroom environment and Holy Trinity’s expectation of excellence in character.

  • VIRTUE - Education alone is not the solution to the world’s problems. An education does not necessarily make students good. It can, in fact, make them puffed up and vain. Every school has a culture which is a reflection of its leadership. Holy Trinity Classical Christian School strives to form the mind and character of the student to follow the example of Jesus Christ, the hero and savior of mankind.
  • DAILY PRAYER - Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous; teach me to serve You as You deserve; to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for reward save that of knowing I am doing Your Will. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
  • CODE OF CONDUCT - Teachers and administration recognize that maintaining a well-disciplined classroom is key to learning. We believe that “knowledge without virtue is a dangerous thing,” therefore encouraging virtuous behavior is as important as encouraging excellence in math and grammar. Students are expected to uphold the Holy Trinity Student Code of Conduct.

Powerful

In addition to extra-curricular Athletics, Holy Trinity Classical Christian School nourishes the whole student body as part of our academic curriculum: Physical Education, Recess, and through events like Upper School Cup (grades 7-12) and Field Day (grades K-6).

At Holy Trinity Classical Christian School, nourishing the body works in tandem with developing the mind and cultivating the soul  of all students.
