Mrs. Barbara Hathaway received a B.A. in English from Cedar Crest College and an M.S.L.S. from Drexel University. Mrs. Hathaway has had a full career as a Librarian and was Director of Information Services and Head Librarian for Woodberry Forest School before moving to Beaufort. She also has served as a Media Specialist at Northfield Elementary School in Vermont, a Reference Librarian at the University of Delaware, as the Assistant Director of Chesapeake Library System in Virginia, and as a Government Documents Librarian for the University of Delaware. Mrs. Hathaway is a member and past president of the Sea Island Garden Club. She also serves on the Board of CODA (Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse) and is a member of the Association of Independent School Librarians. She is a member of St. Helena’s Anglican Church and serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. She is married to Bishop Alden Hathaway and has two married children (Alex and Hillary) and five grandchildren. Mrs. Hathaway lovingly donates her time and talent to our school community. She has been a volunteer since 2012. In addition to Librarian, she served as a co-chair of Holy Trinity’s Campus Vision Campaign and is a member of the Board of Governors and Board of Trustees serving as Secretary of the Trustees.
